How Many Photos Will You Take?
I tend to take just the right amount of photos to get the best ones (after years of practice - not too many, not too little). I may snap away five or six photos at a time, but you won’t have to go through hundreds when the time comes to choose the final number of photos you get with the photo session you have purchased.
How Do You Edit?
All of your images will be carefully hand-edited using professional editing tools and techniques. My style comes down to steps that are unique to my brand - emotive, moody, and dark, and often desaturated. I like photos with very little retouching, smoothing, or other editing but on occasion, it’s necessary to remove blemishes or anything that shouldn’t be there naturally.
When Will I Get My Photos?
Within two (2) weeks, you’ll receive a link to your personal gallery. I will only post the best ones for you to make decisions easier - no awkward half-shut eyes or toes sticking out of socks. Simply email or text me back the number assigned to the photos you love and I will edit and deliver those photos within another two weeks.
What Kind of Files Will I Receive?
You’ll be given download access to high-resolution files of every image you have chosen. I will send you JPG full size and half size photos: For example, if the photo file has a dimension of 8x12, I will also send you a 4x6. If you have a special request, such as files sized for social media, just let me know in advance. PS: I don’t give out RAW files or unedited photos, sorry: You’re not paying for the ones that aren’t good!
What Can I Do With My Photos?
By signing the Photo Release form I’ll provide you, you’ll be given full and unlimited rights to digital and print to share and use as much as you’d like. These are your photos! The only thing you can’t do is sell them or pass them off as your own images. I’d also like to ask that you don’t alter them by adding filters, cropping, or re-editing them, which undoes all of the hard work I put into them as well as the money you paid!
Can I Print My Photos?
Yes, of course! But (there’s always a big but) I can’t guarantee the exact outcome. My screen is calibrated to match with professional software, but colors may be off with other computer screens and third party printers. Non-professional inks, papers, and processes can fade and yellow with time, whereas professional prints on archival paper will last for years to come. Just make sure you inquire with your online or in-person vendor before printing and always use the full-size photos.
A non-refundable retainer fee is required to reserve your photo session appointment. All retainer fees are listed on the photo sessions pages. If we need to reschedule, the retainer fee will be applied to a future session date. However, only one reschedule is allowed per retainer fee, and fees must be used within six (6) months of the original session date.
The remainder of your session fee is due one week (seven days) before our appointment.
Rescheduling & Cancellations
I completely understand that circumstances outside of our control may cause one or both of us to have to reschedule. If weather, health or other issues cause us to reschedule, your retainer fee will be transferred to a future session date.
However, if you are cancelling and do not intend to reschedule, remember that your retainer fee is non-refundable. Sorry, no exceptions.
If you are unhappy with your session or anything delivered to you, please contact me as soon as possible so that we may fix the issue together.
Upon booking a photo session with me and after I receive your non-refundable retainer fee, I will present you with a photo/model release form. I may showcase key images from our session on my website, blog, social media and other profiles unless you specifically request me not to do so. It is completely your choice to ask me not to post and/or use your name, venue, etc. Please note that no matter what you decide, I will still need a release form on file and it must be completed before I send you your final photos.
Digital and Print Release
All full-resolution digital images from our photo session come with an automatic print release from me which means you are free to do whatever you wish with the photo files given to you. Kevin Hartmann Photo still retains all copyrights to these images but will not sell RAW or unedited images to third parties.
Prices shown under photo sessions are current and non-negotiable. You can certainly contact me for a la carte pricing if you don’t see something you need or which fits your budget. In these cases, the terms and price will be set up-front for you in contract for your individual session and are non-transferrable to another party.
Pricing is subject to change without notice and I cannot honor older session pricing if you have not already booked a session with me with a retainer fee.
Location & Travel Fee
If you wish to shoot at a location that is more than a 30 mile round trip (15 miles each way) from my home office, a travel fee of $50 will be added to your session price. This will be determined up front with me so there are no surprises.
